About the position

The Cage Cashier plays a crucial role in the operations of Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC) by efficiently conducting transactions for both external guests and internal team members. This position is responsible for maintaining the accountability of assigned funds, ensuring the protection of PRC's assets. The Cage Cashier must comply with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as well as state and federal regulations. The role requires the completion of all necessary paperwork and the reconciliation of daily reports. The Cage Cashier will become proficient in various Cage Department locations, including Jackpot Windows, Team Member areas, Kiosk, Poker, High Limit, Main Bank, and Vault. In addition to performing transactions, the Cage Cashier is expected to deliver a Four Diamond level of service, which is a commitment to exceptional guest service. This includes accurately processing transactions such as redeeming chips, cash, and vouchers, issuing markers, and handling high denomination chip cash-outs. The Cage Cashier must also maintain an impressed bankroll throughout their shift, ensuring proper counts and accurate paperwork. Compliance with federal gaming regulations is critical, particularly in recording and verifying Title 31 information. The position does not involve supervisory responsibilities, but the Cage Cashier is accountable for protecting the assets of PRC. The role also includes aiding new team members and cross-training in all Cage areas, ensuring a collaborative and efficient work environment. Other duties may be assigned as needed, emphasizing the importance of flexibility and adaptability in this fast-paced casino setting.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently perform guest transactions at a Four Diamond level.
  • Redeem/exchange chips, cash, coin, vouchers, tickets, checks, and credit card advances for cash equivalents for casino guests.
  • Issue markers and accept marker payments, receive Front Money deposits, and issue Front Money withdrawals in the High Limit area.
  • Perform exchanges, issue Jackpots, issue Table Fills, accept Table Credits, issue bankrolls, and cash out tips in Team Member areas.
  • Accept drops from Count Drop Team (CDT), prepare bank deposits, verify sells, and prepare due backs for all Cage locations in the Vault.
  • Drop machines, replace cassettes, research guest claims, and prepare replacement cassettes in the Kiosk area.
  • Handle guest transactions, chip runner exchanges, tournament buys ins, and seat assignments in Poker.
  • Maintain impressed bankroll throughout the assigned shift, ensuring proper count in/out and accurate paperwork.
  • Record and verify required Title 31 information to NeWave system to ensure compliance with federal gaming regulations.
  • Provide verification for other Team Member's transactions.
  • Aid new Team Members and cross train in all Cage areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of cash handling experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate product information to guests.
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
