About the position

The Cake Decorator position at Dunkin' involves creating and decorating cakes while ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene. The role requires creativity and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Cake Decorator will also be responsible for maintaining inventory and ensuring that all products meet company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Take cakes to various stores and districts (van will be provided).
• Build, design, frost, paint, and decorate cakes (training will be provided).
• Work at a fast and steady pace with other cake department employees to finish orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain required inventory levels and keep cakes organized by size and design using FIFO (First In-First Out).
• Fill out order forms neatly and accurately.
• Merchandise the upright freezer and report any adjustments needed.
• Ensure all dessert shelf guidelines are met.
• Label and date code cakes accurately.
• Learn how to write on cakes.
• Use knives and other cutting materials safely.
• Follow standards and procedures set by the company.
• Maintain inventory on all items needed to produce desserts.
• Follow decorating quality guidelines and standards to the detail.
• Maintain good hygiene.

Requirements

• Must be able to follow written directions.
• Able to operate kitchen equipment (minimum age requirements may apply).
• Must be able to move quickly and perform repetitive motions and tasks.
• Must be able to step into cold temperatures (freezers of up to -15F) for minutes at a time (jacket will be provided for freezer access).
• Must be able to work with cold products like ice cream and frozen cakes.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have a steady pulse.
• Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs.
• Must be able to work standing for 8-hour shifts.
• Must have organizational skills.
• Must possess qualities like creativity, dependability, attention to detail, and congeniality.
• Must have eye-hand coordination.
