About the position

The Calibration Engineer role at Toyota's Powertrain Calibration & Evaluation Department focuses on engine emission and OBD development. The position involves working collaboratively within a diverse team to calibrate powertrains, ensuring compliance with North American and global market regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to managing calibration schedules, conducting data analysis, and developing new testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute engine control on-board diagnostics development activities as part of a calibration team.
• Complete engine calibration and testing to meet regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and manage calibration and resource schedules to meet development deadlines.
• Conduct data collection and advanced data analysis, preparing technical reports.
• Develop new procedures and tools for testing, data analysis, and calibration.
• Build successful relationships with related vehicle departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with engine calibration and OBD or emission development.
• Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory and practice.
• 1+ years of experience with MATLAB/Simulink/C or other programming languages.
• Experience in investigating complex technical issues and creating solutions.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record as per company standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced engineering degree.
• Hands-on experience working on vehicles through SAE or similar experience.
• Experience with OBD or emission development for markets outside the US.
• Proficiency in the Japanese language.
