About the position
The Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration and repair of precision Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) and Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in both laboratory and field environments. This role requires applying engineering and technical expertise to ensure instruments function correctly and meet established specifications. The technician will perform verification, adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs while collaborating with Metrology Engineers and equipment owners to meet calibration requirements.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate and repair precision Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) and Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
- Verify instrument performance against established specifications for accuracy and precision.
- Troubleshoot and repair instruments, applying metrology techniques and theory.
- Interface with Metrology Engineers and equipment owners regarding calibration requirements and specifications.
- Manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Utilize basic math/algebra and scientific notation for unit conversions between metric and Imperial/British units.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Senior Instrument Technician or equivalent.
- Associates Degree in electronics technology or equivalent is strongly desired.
- Experience with calibration and metrology principles across multiple measurement disciplines.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and cGMP practices.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, and MS.
- Knowledge of software applications like IBM Maxmio and Fluke Met/Cal.
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certificate.
