Pay $19.23 - $27.16 an hour Job type Full-time Full job description The calibration technician is responsible for calibrating equipment, as well as maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting basic instrumentation both for the calibration laboratory and production lines. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that all instrumentation, gauges, and testing devices/equipment are calibrated correctly, on-time, and maintain NIST traceability. Qualifications: Calibration Engineering Technology Associate of Applied Science or Calibration Technician Certification Program, 2-year vocational or equivalent education/experience. A Bachelor's or technical degree and three to five years of experience preferred. Must have the ability to loop check, tune, troubleshoot, and startup instrumentation. Must have the ability to calibrate various types of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, level, flow and analytical instruments. Must be able to read and understand production drawings (mechanical and electrical), prints, and SOPs. Understanding of pneumatics (pressure, flow), electrical (DC and AC), and forces. Aptitude for math, technical writing, and advanced knowledge of computers Must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly to manufacturing and QA personnel. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and all applicants must comply with ITAR requirements. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Calibration of measurement instruments used for product inspection and repair including: acoustical, chemical, electrical, fluid, mechanical, optical or thermodynamic gauges. Must be capable of developing calibration testing procedures, in cooperation with the requesting engineer, for each piece of equipment based on technical specifications and end use. Compile, measure and record data (as-found & as-left) from each instrument, and maintain the associated calibration database. Coordinating day-to-day activities involving calibration issues including scheduling, troubleshooting and gauge inventory and ensuring the quality, quantity and timeliness of the product or service they provide Install and service all types of electronic equipment to comply with cGMP. Troubleshoot, fabricate and repair instrumentation as required to support production operations. Perform diagnosis and repair of malfunctioning instruments. Understanding of MSA studies (Gauge Linearity and RR studies) Provide support in executing requirements of established systems within Company. Assist in resolution of problems as defined by internal customers Perform other duties as assigned. Additional tasks may include (but are not limited to) training, ordering replacement parts for faulty equipment, and researching advances in calibration techniques. Physical Requirements: Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor. Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of manufactured parts and reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Must be able to distinguish colors. Other: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite manufacturing duties.
