About the position

Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation software, enabling companies worldwide to develop innovative electronic products more efficiently and cost-effectively. We are looking for a dynamic and professional technical person who thrives in a fast-paced, friendly environment. In this role, you will focus on providing technical support for Siemens EDA's cutting-edge Calibre products. Your responsibilities will include leading and executing both pre-sale and post-sale technical support activities, assessing how Siemens Calibre products meet customer needs, and preparing product specifications for the development and installation of customized applications and solutions. You will illustrate the value of Siemens EDA solutions by developing and delivering software demonstrations, technical presentations, and performing benchmark evaluations to assist customers in their evaluations of Siemens EDA's Calibre solutions. On-site support will be required when issues arise with clients' use of Siemens EDA Calibre products. You will work closely with area sales management, account teams, and customers to understand business opportunities and drive business for Siemens EDA, using your technical expertise to establish criteria for successful engagements. Additionally, you will assist technical teams, including R&D, to establish the value of Siemens EDA products and differentiate them from the competition. Your role will also involve providing pre-sale technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations, working with marketing and product managers to define new products, and contributing to technical sales plans while communicating with peers and field technical management on progress and account status. This position is based in Fremont, CA, with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute both pre-sale and post-sale technical support activities.
  • Assess how Siemens Calibre products meet customer needs.
  • Prepare product specifications for development and installation of customized applications and solutions.
  • Develop and deliver software demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Perform benchmark evaluations to assist customers in their evaluations of Siemens EDA's Calibre solutions.
  • Provide on-site support when issues arise with clients' use of Siemens EDA Calibre products.
  • Work closely with area sales management, account teams, and customers to understand business opportunities.
  • Drive business for Siemens EDA using technical expertise as part of the sales team.
  • Assist technical teams, including R&D, to establish value for Siemens EDA products.
  • Provide pre-sale technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Work with marketing and product managers to define new products and provide field insights.
  • Contribute to technical sales plans and communicate with peers and field technical management on progress and account status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, VLSI, or foreign equivalent; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with IC Physical Verification using EDA tools like Siemens Calibre, Synopsys IC Validator, Cadence PVS/Pegasus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with DRC, LVS, ERC, PEX, and PERC type verification flows.
  • Experience working with advanced (7nm or smaller) process node-based physical verification checking applications.
  • Experience with PDK development using SVRF or equivalent language.
  • Strong background in IC design with experience in both Analog and Digital design flows and verification.
  • Familiarity with Unix and Linux OS.
  • Prior experience with CAD scripting and rule deck languages: SVRF/TVF, Tcl/Tk, Skill, Perl, Scheme, etc.
  • Expertise in distributed computing and working with grid schedulers like LSF, Altair Accelerator, slurm.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with 3DIC design and heterogeneous package verification.
