About the position

The Call Center Agent/Customer Service role is a temporary, contract position focused on providing professional and courteous service to customers regarding tax compliance and inquiries. The position is primarily remote, but candidates must attend an orientation on the first day to collect equipment. The role requires handling inbound calls, resolving issues, and educating taxpayers on resources and policies while meeting performance expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally and courteously serve customers by handling inbound telephone calls related to tax compliance and inquiries.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resolve Tier 1 level issues for customers.
  • Review taxpayer accounts and verify key information.
  • Gather and update information simultaneously during calls.
  • Educate taxpayers on online resources and current tax policies.
  • Submit requests for payment arrangements.
  • Participate in team engagement activities and meet performance expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two years of experience in a fast-paced call center environment.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google applications.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards serving others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish-speaking preferred.
