About the position
The Call Center Associate at Emory Healthcare is responsible for managing incoming calls from patients and their families, assisting them with menu requests, and utilizing room service diet software to process orders. The role emphasizes customer service, effective communication, and the ability to guide patients through the ordering process while ensuring their dietary preferences are met.
Responsibilities
- Takes calls from patients and/or patient families for menu requests.
- Utilizes room service diet software to process orders.
- Proactively guides patients or family members through the ordering process.
- Processes new diet orders, transfers, and discharges.
- Handles menu orders for patients unable to place orders by phone.
- Identifies and contacts patients who have not ordered their meals.
- Facilitates meal orders or documents reasons for meal refusal.
- Enters patient food preferences into room service software.
- Redirects calls when unable to handle questions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 year of call center work experience or related customer service experience.
- Additional experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in customer service, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication.
- Ability to make sound judgments while processing information quickly.
- Proficient computer and web-based software skills.
- Knowledge of modified diets preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in English.
- Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions.
