About the position

The Customer Service Representative at Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc. plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service by interacting with customers via telephone and face-to-face. This position involves managing customer accounts, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by starting new accounts and canceling or changing service levels.
  • Answer basic service-related questions and effectively communicate available services and associated costs.
  • Start and/or discontinue service by eliciting information from customers.
  • Perform data entry tasks to enter information into the in-house system.
  • Follow proper phone etiquette and procedures in accordance with Burrtec's guidelines.
  • Utilize the in-house system to enter information regarding service/account status.
  • Resolve customer complaints tactfully and effectively, providing options for resolution.
  • Assist walk-in customers, process payments, and perform cash register functions.
  • Generate work orders and submit them to operations for various service requests.
  • Resolve billing disputes and explain account history to customers.
  • Process temporary service requests and ensure accurate information is conveyed to customers.
  • Handle return mail and resubmit bills with accurate customer information.
  • Process returning contracts and ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Print invoices and process refund requests according to procedures.
  • Audit credit balances.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service experience is required.
  • Previous call center experience is preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good listening skills and ability to elicit information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a concern for quality.
  • Computer skills and ability to operate a 10-Key calculator.
