About the position

The Call Center Representative position at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties is a per diem role focused on providing exceptional customer service to both external and internal clients. The representative will handle calls from the appointment line, assist in scheduling patient appointments, and ensure that all interactions are courteous and professional. Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls efficiently and appropriately.
• Schedule patient appointments according to PPOSBC guidelines using the computer-based appointment schedule.
• Provide callers/patients with appropriate resources as necessary.
• Understand and communicate information on payment for health services, including self-pay, private insurance, and state benefits.
• Call insurance companies to verify benefits and eligibility.
• Adhere to PPOSBC scripts and protocols regarding patient confidentiality and reproductive health of minors.
• Comply with safety procedures, including emergency procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of proven customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare background.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Experience with online appointment systems preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records may be required.
