About the position

The Call Center Representative at Trussville Gas and Water is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by handling various customer inquiries, processing payments, and setting up new accounts. This role is essential in ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient service delivery for water and gas services in Central Alabama.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain required information from customers to begin and discontinue water and/or gas service.
  • Accept and accurately process customer payments at the drive-thru or over the phone.
  • Respond to customer billing inquiries or complaints.
  • Interact with the public via telephone, email, and in person in a satisfactory manner.
  • Communicate with servicemen via telephone to relay customer service requests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of customer service experience required.
  • Bilingual in English and another language preferred.
  • Proficient in using Windows operating system and desktop computers.
  • Ability to read and transcribe numbers accurately.
  • Experience in handling cash and balancing accounts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in transcription and data entry.
  • Knowledge of office methods, practices, and procedures.
