About the position

The Call Center Specialist is responsible for managing incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, and updating patient information in the management system. This role involves direct interaction with patients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to clinic policies.

Responsibilities

  • Answer all incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Update patient demographics and insurance in the patient management system.
  • Efficiently transfer calls to appropriate staff and departments.
  • Greet patients and notify appropriate personnel of patients' arrival.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and complete confirmation calls on a daily basis.
  • Assist patients with demographic paperwork.
  • Document all pertinent information in patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer literate, familiar with Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to type 45 wpm.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with an electronic practice management (EMR) system.
  • Bilingual (preferably Spanish).
