Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer and manage your route efficiently to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Load and unload cargo, as needed; most loads are no touch.
- Maintain accurate records of your trip, including fuel usage, mileage, and any issues encountered during the journey.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure that your tractor-trailer is in good working condition.
- Respect the relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Adhere to all federal and state regulations, including those related to truck driving, freight transportation, and commercial driving.
Requirements
- Proven experience with tractor-trailers and commercial driving.
- Strong knowledge of route driving and freight transportation.
- Ability to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.
- Experience with trucking, ELD, logbooks.
- Familiarity with flatbed transportation.
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work long hours, including overnight shifts, and be away from home for extended periods of time.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in OTR driving for at least 1 year.
- Familiarity with business incorporation and D.O.T compliance.
