About the position
TelevisaUnivision is seeking a temporary camera operator to contribute to entertainment live coverage. This role requires a candidate who can work independently while managing multiple projects and adhering to tight deadlines. The position demands flexibility, as the candidate will be expected to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to adjust shifts and days off as necessary. The camera operator will be responsible for recording raw video and audio, transforming it into a polished final product. This includes driving news and live-transmission vehicles and operating various production equipment. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of news and be news literate, allowing them to effectively capture and convey important stories.
Responsibilities
- Shoot and record raw video and audio for live entertainment coverage.
- Edit and produce finished video content from raw footage.
- Drive news and live-transmission vehicles as required.
- Operate production equipment during shoots and broadcasts.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Adapt to a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- 0-1 years' experience in recording and editing for broadcast and station news.
- Proficient in both written and oral communication in English and Spanish.
- Experience with MAC and PC platforms, including Adobe Creative software (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop).
- Knowledge of Final Cut Pro is a plus.
- Above average computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Social media savvy with strong interpersonal skills.
- High School Graduate with some college preferred.
- Basic knowledge of news operations and practices is helpful.
- Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach, and sit for up to 8 hours and lift 25-50 lbs.
