About the position

The Camp Property Operations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the usability, safety, and security of the Camp Robbinswold property and its facilities. This role involves maintenance activities, natural resource management, and providing hosting services to site users. The coordinator works as part of a small team and is expected to deliver a quality camp experience through excellent customer service, requiring a flexible schedule that includes weekends, overnight, and on-call hours.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees property specific site hosting processes and procedures.
  • Facilitates group orientation and facility training.
  • Coordinates on-site readiness process for events and user groups, including supervision of user groups.
  • Facilitates collaboration between GSWW event leads, the Site Reservation Manager, and on-site property staff.
  • Provides access to reserved facilities to site users.
  • Cleans and restocks facilities before and after site user check-in/check-out.
  • Responds to emergent maintenance requests.
  • Manages the scheduling, coordination, and training of volunteer camp hosts.
  • Provides on-call, overnight, and weekend coverage.
  • Carries out assigned maintenance tasks to ensure facilities, grounds, systems, and equipment meet health, safety, regulatory, and organization standards.
  • Provides supervisory support for DOC contracted labor, AmeriCorps crews, and volunteer maintenance groups and camp hosts.
  • Supports the assessment and reporting of on-site safety and work progress according to DOC labor, AmeriCorps, and other grant contract requirements.
  • Provides after-hours response necessary for on-site incidents and emergencies, completing documentation per GSWW incident reporting procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining current site documentation, including maintenance logs, septic records, inventory, and invoicing as directed.
  • Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with staff, volunteers, youth participants, neighbors, community groups, government agencies, and the business community.
  • Assists with vendor coordination and management as directed by the Camp Property Operations Manager.
  • Attends all staff meetings, property/program group meetings, and provides logistics/documentary support for the department.
  • Conducts regular security inspections of site and facilities, updating camp maintenance needs list annually.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in construction, hospitality, natural resources, recreation management, or other relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with property, facility, natural resources, recreation, and trade skills including equipment maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and janitorial.
  • Experience supervising or working with volunteers and contract labor or managing/leading teams.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license, proof of insurance, vehicle in working condition and the ability to fulfill travel requirements in a timely manner throughout Western Washington.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain upon employment.
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background check.
