About the position

The Campus and Community Engagement Manager at Arizona State University (ASU) plays a crucial role in fostering partnerships and collaborations between the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy (CSRD) and various stakeholders, including faculty, students, and community organizations. This position is responsible for developing community engagement opportunities, supervising student engagement initiatives, and contributing to the growth of collaborative programming across educational institutions in Arizona. The manager will work closely with the director to enhance the Center's impact and leadership in addressing issues of race and democracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative management and oversight of campus partnerships and collaborations with ASU faculty and students.
  • Cultivate community engagement opportunities with local, regional, and national CSRD partners.
  • Supervise ASU student engagement opportunities, including recruitment and mentoring of fellowship and scholarship recipients.
  • Develop collaborative programming and community-based opportunities with educational partners.
  • Complete projects in accordance with priorities and funding limitations.
  • Maintain documentation and assessment of partnerships to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Strengthen community engagement through coordinated program development and sponsorships.
  • Supervise student workers and interns on engagement projects.
  • Interact with various stakeholders including administrators, faculty, staff, and community leaders.
  • Ensure timely production and dissemination of marketing and communication materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five years of related administrative experience, including three years of supervisory experience; or nine years of related experience with three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leadership development and organizational leadership principles.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication and presentations.
  • Experience with project management and organization.
  • Knowledge of planning, budgeting, implementing, and evaluation processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
  • Experience in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Experience in teaching skills including curriculum development and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of processes for conducting needs assessments.
  • Experience in designing training materials and presentations.
