About the position

The Campus Service Ambassador position at the University of Cincinnati involves performing greeter duties as part of the Residence Hall Ambassador Program or housekeeping service duties. The role requires interaction with residents, visitors, and vendors, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of residence halls, and may involve emergency response tasks. The position is primarily overnight, requiring flexibility and adaptability to changing assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents, visitors, and vendors entering and exiting residence halls.
  • Inspect the building periodically and report issues to ensure security and functionality.
  • Act as a liaison to Emergency Maintenance and campus partners as necessary.
  • Report unauthorized or suspicious individuals to Public Safety personnel.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with residents and residence hall staff.
  • Audit residence hall restrooms and common spaces for cleanliness.
  • Assist Housekeeping and Emergency Maintenance with building emergencies.
  • Perform hall opening and closing room preparation as needed.
  • Carry out housekeeping duties during peak times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of customer service related experience.
  • Knowledge of proper use and care of radio, radio equipment, telephone, and computer.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple events occurring simultaneously.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and correctly.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and complete required training programs.
