About the position

Pittsburg State University is seeking a dedicated Campus Services System Administrator to join its Information Technology Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including application packaging and deployment, operating system deployment, inventory management, software and system licensing, and providing remote support. The position also involves collaboration on special projects with other areas of ITS, particularly in Security and Server/System Administration, ensuring that the university's IT infrastructure is robust and efficient. The Campus Services System Administrator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the operational capabilities of the Technical Support area. This includes overseeing system administration tasks that account for 50% of the role, which encompasses operating system deployment, inventory management, application packaging, document archival services, and remote support options. The administrator will also provide technical advisement to Campus Services staff, assisting the Director of Campus Services and Technical Support Leads in investigating and resolving technical issues, which constitutes 20% of the responsibilities. Additionally, the role requires a focus on research and development, where the administrator will dedicate 20% of their time to exploring new systems, processes, and procedures that can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Campus Services staff. The remaining 10% of the role will involve other duties as assigned, including acting as a liaison for the Systems Department and supporting various security and response initiatives. Responsibilities

Requirements
