About the position

The Campus Store Manager at Follett's Purdue West Bookstore is responsible for leading all aspects of store operations, focusing on driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves mentoring team members, managing financial metrics, and collaborating with the Regional Manager to enhance store performance and campus relationships. The manager is expected to embody Follett's values and strategic competencies while fostering a culture of accountability and engagement within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute operating plans and daily operations for both traditional and rush periods consistent with company objectives.
  • Execute sales promotions, special events, book signings, and preparation of merchandise displays, store layout, and advertising copy.
  • Lead in-store course materials activities in collaboration with course materials leadership.
  • Partner with Regional Manager to review store financials and adjust accordingly to drive sales.
  • Meet annual shrink budget and review/approve store markups, markdowns, and write-offs within company guidelines.
  • Ensure the security of company assets and the safety of associates and customers, adhering to company policies.
  • Facilitate campus and/or community events and communicate day-to-day operational activities.
  • Conduct Strategic Partnership Reviews and ensure campus outreach and engagement.
  • Manage full cycle talent management, including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain an engaging customer service culture focused on solutions-based selling and exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of retail management or strong customer service experience.
  • General Computer Skills.
  • Academic retail experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Vital customer service, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Advanced relationship building and demonstrated ability to influence a team.
