About the position

The Technology Program Intern at Fannie Mae is a flexible hybrid role designed for students to gain hands-on experience in software development, IT architecture, and data analytics. Interns will collaborate with senior staff to implement modern technologies and maintain tools using industry best practices, contributing to various functions within the Chief Information Office.

Responsibilities

  • Design, produce, test, or implement software, technology, or processes.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to implement modern technologies.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining IT architecture and cloud-based systems.
  • Support data protection and governance to prevent data loss.
  • Produce clean, efficient software solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Integrate software components and third-party applications.
  • Provide support to production applications, troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing software.
  • Recommend and execute improvements to both the software and development process.
  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams for key software applications.
  • Manage data platforms and tools, monitoring production logs, and analyzing data.

Requirements

  • Be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Academic achievement with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Rising senior enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Computer Sciences or Engineering.
  • Understanding of software development and programming in languages such as Java, JavaScript, C++, or Python.
  • Familiarity with various technical frameworks and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with databases and software design in a test-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical background.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to contribute to a team atmosphere.
  • Self-starter with strong business acumen and results-focused mindset.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS developer tools.
  • Familiarity with data management tools like Collibra and Dremio.
  • Knowledge of predictive analytics and BI tools such as Tableau.
