About the position

The Canadian National Sales Manager at Klein Tools is a pivotal role that involves leading a dedicated team of sales representatives across all provinces in Canada. This position is crucial for achieving the company's sales performance goals in the Canadian market. The manager will be responsible for implementing sales strategies, developing promotional activities, and maintaining strong relationships with distributor partners, contractors, and various B2B end users. The role requires a proactive approach to sales management, focusing on both new and existing customer relationships to drive growth and performance. In this dynamic position, the Canadian National Sales Manager will lead a team of Independent Sales Rep Agencies, ensuring that sales performance is maximized across all Canadian provinces. This includes maintaining productive relationships with national accounts and large regional distributors, as well as developing value-supported relationships with significant contractors, industrial clients, and MRO customers. The manager will be tasked with achieving sales quotas within the assigned region, which encompasses quotas for new products and promotional initiatives. Continuous prospecting for new customers and distribution channels is essential, along with supporting various sales events as assigned. The role also involves developing and executing promotions to support the sales of both legacy and new products. A comprehensive understanding of each account's culture, key personnel, and strategic direction is necessary to tailor sales approaches effectively. The Canadian National Sales Manager will develop and implement a sales plan based on data analysis provided by internal teams and will be expected to deliver regular sales activity reports to their direct manager. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, making adaptability and a results-driven mindset key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Independent Sales Rep Agencies to grow sales performance in all Canadian Provinces
  • Maintain productive relationships with all National Accounts and Large Regional Distributors
  • Develop value-supported relationships with numerous large Contractors, Industrials, and MRO Customers
  • Lead achievement of sales quotas within the assigned region, including quotas for new products and promotions
  • Continually prospect for new customers and channels of distribution
  • Support sales events as assigned
  • Develop and execute promotions to support sales of legacy and new products
  • Compile a comprehensive understanding of each account's culture, key personnel, and direction
  • Develop and implement sales plan using data analysis provided from internal teams
  • Deliver a sales activity report on a regular cadence to direct manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associates Degree Required, Bachelors Degree preferred
  • At least five (5) years of Sales experience is required
  • Previous Canadian sales experience is desirable
  • Versatility and flexibility in adjusting to changing business needs and priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong team focus and ability to work with others, both internal and external to the organization
  • Must be bondable and possess a valid driver's license at all times
