About the position

The Medical Assistant position at YNHHS involves providing patient-centered care under the direction of a Registered Nurse as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to and from exam and/or treatment areas, ensuring patient safety by following established organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care activities essential for high-quality patient care.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, peers, and the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Enrollment in or completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.
  • Knowledge of general medical terminology required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Preferred 12-18 months of experience as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Patient Care Associate, preferably in an outpatient clinical setting.
  • Clinical competency and computer experience required.
  • Phlebotomy skills preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or completion within 1 year of hire.
