About the position

The Cancer Prevention Health Services Research Data Analyst at the Dell Medical School is responsible for providing data management and analysis support within the Cancer Prevention and Control Program. This role involves engaging with multi-disciplinary research teams to deliver professional biostatistical support for behavioral science, health services, and clinical research. The analyst will develop data analysis plans, manage multiple data sources, and ensure data integrity while assisting in research design and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop program databases in collaboration with program directors and staff.
  • Maintain and check all data entry for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze and interpret data, selecting and applying appropriate statistical methods.
  • Compile regular reports for internal customers, grantors, and external agencies.
  • Effectively disseminate findings through reports and graphical displays.
  • Collaborate on the development of reports or manuscripts for peer-review.
  • Monitor data infrastructure for compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics or Biostatistics or closely related field, or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of at least two statistical software packages such as SAS, Stata, R, or SPSS.
  • Proficiency with REDCap for database management.
  • Experience with research designs and pragmatic approaches.
  • Ability to perform descriptive data analysis and execute specialized analyses under direction.

Nice-to-haves

  • More than two years of professional experience in data management and analysis.
  • Experience with behavioral science, health services, or clinical and translational data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially in Excel.
  • Experience working with large data sets and designing survey instruments.
  • Experience in an Electronic Medical Record system.
