About the position
The Cannabis Advisor at Verano Holdings Corp. is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and educational consulting in a retail environment focused on cannabis products. This role involves assisting customers in understanding the benefits and uses of cannabis as a wellness product, while also managing patient records and ensuring compliance with local and state regulations. The position requires a positive attitude, teamwork, and a commitment to ongoing education in the cannabis field.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
- Advocate for cannabis customer care.
- Educate customers on the use of cannabis as a wellness product.
- Build rapport with regular customers to promote repeat business.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of cannabis products without giving medical advice.
- Engage in ongoing cannabis education and training.
- Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation/storefront.
- Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
- Apply compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
- Stock, merchandise, and replenish inventory displays.
- Complete transactions at the POS and update inventory systems accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
- Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
- Undergo a criminal background check and obtain appropriate state badging.
- Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application methods.
- Ability to use office equipment and software such as Word and Excel.
- Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry.
Benefits
- Full-time position with a pay rate of $16.50/hour plus tips.
- Open availability required for any days including weekends and holidays.
