About the position
The Cannabis Advisor is a pivotal role within our retail environment, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and educational consulting to our clients. This position requires a positive attitude and a strong commitment to advocating for cannabis customer care. As a Cannabis Advisor, you will assist customers and patients in navigating the complexities of cannabis products, educating them on their wellness applications without providing medical advice. Building rapport with regular customers is essential to promote repeat business and foster a welcoming atmosphere in our dispensary. In this fast-paced and dynamic retail environment, you will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that all customers receive accurate information regarding the types, methods, and efficacy of various cannabis products. Continuous education and training in cannabis knowledge are crucial, as you will be expected to stay informed about the latest developments in the industry. You will also support managers and fellow Cannabis Advisors as needed, maintaining a clean and organized workstation while ensuring compliance with local and state regulations. Your responsibilities will include managing online orders, stocking and merchandising inventory, and completing transactions at the point of sale (POS). You will be responsible for accurately updating the state-monitored inventory system, ensuring that all products are accounted for and compliant with regulations. This role is not just about sales; it’s about creating a positive experience for our customers and patients, helping them understand how cannabis can enhance their wellness journey.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
- Advocate for cannabis customer care.

- Build rapport with regular patients/customers to promote repeat business.
- Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of cannabis products without giving medical advice.
- Engage in ongoing cannabis education and training.
- Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation/storefront.
- Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
- Understand and apply compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
- Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of inventory.
- Complete transactions at the POS and update the state monitored inventory system accurately.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
- Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
- Required to undergo a criminal background check and appropriate state badging as directed by state ordinances.
- Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
- Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software (e.g., Word, Excel, email).
- Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
