About the position

The Cannabis Advisor at Verano is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and educational consulting regarding cannabis products. This role involves assisting customers in understanding the benefits and uses of cannabis as a wellness product, while also managing patient records and ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional individualized customer service to customers and patients.
• Educate customers on the use of cannabis as a wellness product.
• Build rapport with regular patients/customers to promote repeat business.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of various cannabis products without giving medical advice.
• Engage in ongoing cannabis education and training.
• Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation/storefront.
• Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
• Understand and apply compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
• Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of inventory.
• Complete transactions at the POS and ensure accurate updates to the state monitored inventory system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
• Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Ability to undergo a criminal background check and obtain appropriate state badging.
• Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
• Ability to use office equipment and software, including Word and Excel.
