About the position

The Cannabis Advisor is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and educational consulting regarding cannabis products. This role involves assisting customers and patients in understanding the use of cannabis as a wellness product, while also managing patient records when necessary. The position requires a positive attitude, the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, and a commitment to ongoing education about cannabis.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
• Advocate for cannabis customer care.
• Educate customers and patients on the use of cannabis as a wellness product.
• Build rapport with regular patients/customers to promote repeat business.
• Collaborate with others in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of various cannabis products without giving medical advice.
• Engage in continued cannabis education and training.
• Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation/storefront.
• Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
• Understand and apply compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
• Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of inventory.
• Complete transactions at the POS and ensure accurate updates to the state monitored inventory system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
• Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Required to undergo a criminal background check and appropriate state badging.
• Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
• Ability to use office equipment and software such as Word, Excel, and email.
• Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
