About the position
The Cannabis Advisor is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and educational consulting in a retail cannabis environment. This role involves assisting customers and patients in understanding cannabis products, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The position emphasizes building rapport with customers to promote repeat business and requires ongoing education about cannabis products and their applications.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
- Advocate for cannabis customer care.
- Educate customers on the use of cannabis as a wellness product.
- Build rapport with regular patients/customers to promote repeat business.
- Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of various cannabis products without giving medical advice.
- Participate in ongoing cannabis education and training.
- Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation/storefront.
- Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up.
- Understand and apply compliance regulations as required by local and state laws.
- Stock, merchandise, and replenish displays of inventory.
- Complete transactions at the POS and ensure accurate updates to the state monitored inventory system.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience.
- Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
- Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
- Ability to use office equipment and software such as Word, Excel, and email.
- Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
