Cannabis Dispensary - Budtender

About the position

The Budtender position at Mint Cannabis Co. involves assisting customers with their cannabis needs, maintaining inventory, and processing sales transactions. This role is essential for providing a positive customer experience in a locally-owned cannabis dispensary in Southeast Portland.

Responsibilities

• Advising customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
• Staying updated on new cannabis products and industry trends by researching and trying new products.
• Processing customer payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Ensuring that the dispensary is clean, well organized, and well stocked at all times with both cannabis and non-cannabis items.
• Educating customers on the safe use of cannabis items.
• Correctly weighing, packaging, and labeling cannabis products as required by Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission (OLCC) regulations.
• Checking customer identification documents to verify legal age.
• Following procedures and the direction of management at all times.
• Helping with opening and closing tasks or any other assigned duty.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• General knowledge of cannabis.
• Knowledge of OLCC sales limits.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• The ability to adapt to changing circumstances without notice.
• Must be able to understand and comply with safety regulations.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid Oregon Marijuana Worker Permit.
