About the position

The Cantonese Interpreter position involves providing on-site and remote interpretation services in both consecutive and simultaneous formats throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The role is part-time and requires flexibility in scheduling, as well as the ability to travel to various client locations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can communicate effectively and collaborate with service providers to deliver language services to the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote consecutive and simultaneous interpretation services.
• Manage a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs.
• Travel to various locations within the five boroughs of NYC for interpretation services.
• Establish dependable communication with clients and service providers.
• Collaborate with service providers to deliver language services effectively.

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Cantonese.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and have U.S work authorization.
• Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
• Willingness to travel to all 5 boroughs of New York City.
• Access to the Internet, quiet workspace, and computer/phone for remote work.
• Ability to pass a background check.
