About the position

The Capabilities and Insights Analytics Specialist at McKinsey & Company Inc. is responsible for providing advanced analytics capabilities and insights to Client Service Teams (CSTs) and clients. This role involves managing multiple projects, collaborating with junior colleagues, and delivering customized analytics solutions tailored to client needs. The specialist will conduct complex analyses, develop models, and create reusable knowledge products while contributing to the firm's intellectual property efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve Client Service Teams (CSTs) and clients by providing advanced analytics capabilities and insights.
  • Partner with CSTs to understand client needs and context.
  • Handle multiple projects in parallel and manage junior colleagues across client or knowledge/asset development projects.
  • Support a broad range of CSTs and clients on targeted workstreams in areas of competency and expertise.
  • Independently scope and execute on workstreams.
  • Consolidate, analyze, summarize, and synthesize client data and information.
  • Conduct complex analyses and model development; share and deploy analytics insights through well-structured output files and dashboards.
  • Deliver customized insights and recommendations tailored to client business needs and context.
  • Contribute to the knowledge, tech-enablement, and/or operational agenda beyond client work.
  • Define client- and cell-relevant areas of expertise.
  • Contribute to client development efforts, including creating reusable knowledge products.
  • Coach junior colleagues in workflow management responsibilities.
  • Work directly with clients to scope, own, and drive analytics-focused workstreams.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent.
  • Academic training or experience using data science, data engineering, or data visualization techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python or R.
  • Experience processing large-scale data in SQL.
  • Experience in data mining and building predictive or explanatory machine learning models using standard libraries.
  • Knowledge of statistical hypothesis testing.
  • Experience using one of the following cloud-computing platforms: Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience building interactive dashboards for visualization.
  • Ability to create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
