About the position

The position involves designing, developing, testing, and evaluating electrical, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment, and systems. The Embedded Engineer will provide innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process and will plan the implementation of enhancements. The role includes performing advanced engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operation of various components and systems for commercial, government, military, and scientific uses. The engineer will analyze customer requirements and develop technical solutions to complex problems while maintaining equipment and systems integrity and ensuring compliance with policies. The position also involves coordinating the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate electrical, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment, and systems.
  • Provide innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
  • Plan implementation of enhancements.
  • Perform advanced engineering work concerned with the design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operation of various components and systems.
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Maintain equipment and/or systems integrity while ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent military experience.
  • Fully proficient knowledge of operating system fundamentals and internals.
  • Fully proficient knowledge in low-level programming of device drivers in a Unix, Linux, or Windows environment.
  • Experience in Reverse Engineering tools is a plus.
  • 12+ years of experience in three or more of the following: System Requirements Analysis, Software System Design, Software System Development, Software System Integration, Software System Testing.
  • 8+ years of experience in four or more of the following: Developing embedded software systems, Operating system internals, Reverse engineering and analysis of software, Low-level programming of device drivers, Bit-level data analysis, Systems engineering of large scale embedded systems.
