About the position

The Capex Procurement Director at Pregis LLC is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing strategy and execution across various categories, including capital equipment, energy, and facilities management. This role involves developing category strategies, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and influencing internal stakeholders to align procurement goals with business objectives. The director will also oversee a direct report and contribute to the overall procurement team culture and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all strategic sourcing strategy and execution across Pregis for various categories.
  • Develop category strategies based on pricing, supplier performance, and business needs.
  • Execute sourcing strategy in collaboration with business unit teams.
  • Track savings and monitor supplier performance, adjusting strategy as needed.
  • Understand key stakeholders' goals and communicate how procurement can help meet them.
  • Build relationships and influence across the business to drive category savings programs.
  • Develop long-term relationships with strategic suppliers and focus on value creation.
  • Lead negotiations for assigned categories to lower costs and enhance terms.
  • Clearly articulate procurement strategies to internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Effectively manage the sourcing process with vendors and drive transitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical, supply chain, or finance discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a purchasing or commodity manager supporting capital equipment purchases.
  • Product launch experience, actively working with suppliers and manufacturing.
  • Experience working closely with engineers and operations leaders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with organizational and program management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and ERP systems (SAP is a plus).
  • Ability to creatively mitigate unforeseen problems and influence across organizations.
