About the position

The Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Purchasing Manager at AESC is responsible for overseeing procurement activities related to large-scale engineering and construction projects in the EV battery manufacturing sector. This role involves establishing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies while collaborating with various internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will leverage their purchasing expertise to support the company's industrial development and cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish procurement strategy on related construction services, engineering, and materials based on the project's construction plan.
  • Stay up to date with the latest market trends and continuously source the best products and services at reasonable prices.
  • Create and execute the procurement strategy.
  • Organize bidding and tendering, vendor bidding, and nomination.
  • Manage vendor contracts and track vendor payments.
  • Renegotiate business plans based on project adjustments.
  • Use SAP to manage PO/PR requirements based on project outputs.
  • Proactively seek cost-saving solutions to enable company industrial development.
  • Partner with suppliers and vendors globally to identify strategies for scaling product development.
  • Coordinate and support global plant launch equipment and direct material project issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or supply chain preferred.
  • 5+ years of proven success in procurement/contract management, preferably in MEP/CSA, construction, or facilities space of large industrial construction projects ($100 million USD+ capex).
  • Required technical skills include Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint), Power BI, and SAP.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, cost analyses, and contract negotiations in CAPEX is essential.
  • Experience in project controls or construction management is preferred.
  • Experience in the semiconductor, battery, construction, or automotive industry is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Experience in training and mentoring peers on best practices for project management and execution.

  • Experience in large industrial construction projects.
  • Familiarity with automated manufacturing environments.
