About the position

The Capital Advisory Analyst position at BMS Group involves providing analytical support on mergers & acquisitions (M&A), private capital raising, and other financial advisory services. Analysts will manage deal flow, serve as primary client contacts, and support transaction execution while working closely with senior bankers throughout each transaction stage. This role is crucial for preparing and presenting client deliverables and requires collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support junior and senior team members in developing new business ideas, strategies, or structuring scenarios to help clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with client teams, analytics, legal firms, actuaries, and other stakeholders to deliver strategic advisory and capital raising solutions.
  • Build complex financial models, including discounted cash flow and precedent transactions analyses, to evaluate performance under various scenarios.
  • Support live deal execution, including due diligence processes and reviewing legal documents.
  • Develop investor presentations and company marketing documents.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis in support of deal execution and origination.
  • Travel and participate in discussions with current and prospective clients.
  • Assist in business development efforts such as maintaining market updates and developing conference materials.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, or mathematics with a minimum GPA of 3.4.
  • 0-1 year of full-time work experience in investment banking, capital advisory, financial services, accounting, or (re)insurance broking.
  • Experience with modeling and financial statements analysis.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses or willingness to obtain shortly after joining.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior investment banking or related financial services internship experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously.
  • Knowledge of (re)insurance sector and statutory accounting.
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness.
