About the position

The Capital Asset Manager will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's capital assets. This role is crucial for developing and implementing strategies that maximize the value and performance of these assets while minimizing associated risks and costs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive capital asset management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize capital asset needs based on organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of capital assets to ensure they are properly maintained and in optimal condition.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation related to capital assets, including acquisition, depreciation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and facilities management, to ensure alignment of capital asset management activities with organizational priorities.
  • Manage capital asset budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to capital asset performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of new capital assets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks associated with capital assets, such as equipment failure or obsolescence.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to capital asset management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in capital asset management, preferably in a large organization or complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices related to capital assets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to capital asset management.
  • Proficiency in using asset management software and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Asset Management Professional, Certified Fixed Asset Specialist) are a plus.
