About the position

Avalanche Capital is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable individuals to join our Board of Directors as Advisory Board Members. This role is crucial for guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of accountability and transparency. Ideal candidates are retired or semi-retired financial analysts with over 10 years of experience in investment banking or private equity, who can leverage their expertise to evaluate a high volume of deals and contribute to the firm's growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating and assessing incoming deals.
• Provide strategic oversight and direction for the organization's mission and goals.
• Connect with a network of investors, family offices, private equity contacts, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Review and approve policies, budgets, and major expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including securities law and tax obligations.
• Engage in discussions regarding portfolio management, asset management, and wealth management strategies.
• Collaborate with other board members to evaluate organizational performance and make recommendations for improvement.
• Utilize skills in research and analysis to inform decision-making processes.
• Provide mentorship to help prioritize and select high-potential opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, investment management, asset management, or wealth management.
• Strong understanding of securities law, tax regulations, and financial principles.
• Excellent analytical skills with a solid foundation in math to assess financial reports and projections.
• Background in sales or business development is advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders while maintaining a focus on the organization's mission.
• Commitment to ethical governance practices and accountability.

• Experience in capital markets for at least 10 years.
