About the position

The Capital Market Python Developer will be a key member of the Intraday Risk Engine team, which is responsible for computing risk metrics, profit and loss explanations, and complex scenarios related to various financial instruments including bonds, credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, loans, and mortgage derivatives. The outputs generated by this team are critical for traders, risk managers, and middle office personnel, who rely on accurate and timely data to make informed decisions in a fast-paced trading environment. This role is designed for a mid to senior level developer who is hands-on and capable of engaging directly with business stakeholders to ensure the integrity and accuracy of risk calculations. In this position, the developer will collaborate closely with traders and portfolio strategists to ensure that daily risk reports are delivered accurately and on time. The role will also involve providing business analysis support to traders, risk managers, and trading support personnel, which includes explaining and justifying risk metrics, profit and loss explanations, and general ledger numbers. Additionally, the developer will assist business teams in planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and new features. The ideal candidate will also work alongside front office quants, risk quants, model validation teams, and analytics developers to support the introduction of new credit derivative products and ensure the accuracy of model valuations. Participation in various retirement, business enablement, and regulatory initiatives will be expected, acting as the primary sign-off point and coordinating deployment and go-live plans with technology and business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with traders and portfolio strategists to ensure accurate and timely delivery of daily risk reports.
  • Provide business analysis support to traders, risk managers, and trading support personnel.
  • Explain and justify risk metrics, profit and loss explanations, and general ledger numbers to stakeholders.
  • Assist business teams in planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements.
  • Work with front office quants, risk quants, and model validation teams to support new credit derivative products.
  • Ensure the accuracy of numbers produced by the Risk Engine as enhancements are made.
  • Participate in retirement, business enablement, and regulatory initiatives with technology teams.
  • Coordinate deployment and go-live plans with technology and business partners.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Experience in financial risk management or capital markets.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with traders and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in business analysis and user acceptance testing.
