About the position

The CAPP/CHOICES Program Manager is responsible for overseeing a poverty reduction program and ensuring that its implementation aligns with departmental objectives. This role involves planning, developing, and coordinating program activities, as well as supervising subordinate employees. The manager will also be involved in budget control, policy development, and data analysis to guide program direction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the implementation of the CAPP/CHOICES program activities.
  • Supervise subordinate employees, including hiring, training, and performance appraisal.
  • Prepare program reports for superiors and control program expenditures according to budget allocations.
  • Develop and implement operating policies and procedures for the program.
  • Analyze data to formulate recommendations and program changes.
  • Respond to citizen inquiries and complaints regarding the program.
  • Coordinate activities with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Represent the program at public meetings and evaluate current procedures for effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services or a related field.
  • Two years of professional level experience with responsibility for a poverty reduction program or special initiatives.
  • Valid Florida Driver License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
