About the position

The Captain for Global 6000/Global 7500 at Jet Aviation is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of flights, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies. This role emphasizes safety, security, and quality in aviation services, requiring extensive experience and a valid pilot license. The Captain will report to the lead captain and is expected to manage flight operations, including route planning, crew management, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times and routes, and cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations and policies during flight operations.
  • Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner according to industry and company standards.
  • Complete all trip paperwork accurately in accordance with current procedures.
  • Ensure thorough communication with the second in command regarding all aspects of the flight.
  • Record and report all aircraft discrepancies to the director of maintenance or their designee.
  • Ensure flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.
  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems and emergency procedures.
  • Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage as necessary.
  • Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized agencies.
  • File or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
  • Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for intended landing and alternate airports.
  • Conduct required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the second in command.
  • Impart knowledge and skills to the second in command to prepare them for emergency situations or upgrades.
  • Complete and send the leg manifest to ops control prior to each departure.
  • Complete and send the End of Day report to ops control upon completion of each flight day.
  • Support the open sharing of information on all safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
  • Report any hazardous actions or events to the chief pilot and director of safety.
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
  • Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical.
  • 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing experience.
  • 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land experience.
  • 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command experience.
  • 1500 hours Turbojet experience.
  • 1500 hours Turbine time.
  • 100 hours Night flying experience.
  • 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument experience.
  • 5 years of aviation experience.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules.
  • Willing and able to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
