About the position

The Captain for Gulfstream 600/G650 at Jet Aviation is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of flights, ensuring compliance with all regulations and company policies. This role emphasizes safety, security, and quality in flight operations, requiring extensive aviation experience and the ability to work flexible schedules. The Captain will report to the lead captain and is the final authority for the safe conduct of the flight.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the aircraft, determine departure times and routes, and/or cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.
  • Ensure that the flight is conducted in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations and policies and procedures.
  • Institute all necessary changes as required by en route conditions such that the flight may continue under appropriate company policies, procedures and rules.
  • Conduct the flight in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with industry and company standards.
  • Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding with the second in command regarding all aspects of flight.
  • Record all aircraft discrepancies and report them to the director of maintenance or their designee.
  • Determine that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and that they are mentally and physically fit for duty.
  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
  • Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if necessary.
  • Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized agencies.
  • File or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
  • Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
  • Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator under applicable security programs.
  • Conduct required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the second in command.
  • Impart knowledge and skills to the second in command to prepare them for emergency duties or upgrades.
  • Complete and send the leg manifest to ops control prior to each departure.
  • Complete and send the End of DAY report to ops control upon completion of each flight day.
  • Support the open sharing of information on all safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
  • Make immediate reports of any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the chief pilot and director of safety.
  • Delegate duties as necessary but retain responsibility for those duties.
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
  • Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical.
  • 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing experience.
  • 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land experience.
  • 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command experience.
  • 1500 hours Turbojet experience.
  • 1500 hours Turbine time.
  • 100 hours Night flying experience.
  • 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument experience.
  • 5 years of aviation experience.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules.
  • Willing and able to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
