About the position

As a Captain for the Pilatus PC-12 at United Therapeutics, you will maintain full control and responsibility for the overall safety, efficiency, and smooth operation of company aircraft flights. Your primary purpose will be to provide safe air transportation to company executives and their guests. This role requires you to perform the duties of the aircraft commander, which includes conducting instruction and training flights with United Therapeutics personnel. You will be responsible for preparing detailed flight plans based on a thorough review of the route, weather reports, flight restrictions, and schedules for departures and arrivals. Additionally, you will ensure that all aircraft systems and on-board safety and navigation equipment are in working order and have been approved by qualified technicians. Before each flight, you will complete pre-flight checks and brief the passengers on safety protocols. You will also track and log all information pertaining to technical issues and complete the standard flight documentation as required by the Director of Aviation. This position may also involve other duties as required, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities

  • Maintain full control and responsibility for the overall safety and efficiency of company aircraft flights.
  • Perform the duties of the aircraft commander.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree with at least 12 years of experience as a licensed commercial pilot OR an Associate's Degree with at least 10 years of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years of experience as a licensed pilot.
  • Must be able to obtain ATP within 6 months of employment.
  • Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument certification required.
  • 4,000+ hours of flight time.
  • 2,000+ hours of flight time as Pilot in Command.
  • 1,000+ hours flight time on PC12 as Pilot in Command.
  • Understanding of domestic/international rules and regulations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
  • Knowledge of in-flight safety protocols.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Polite and personable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • ATP certification.
  • Experience with PC 12 NG or NGX.
