About the position

The Capture Research Analyst position at BTAS is a full-time role based in the Corporate Office in Beavercreek, Ohio. This position reports directly to the Business Development Director and plays a crucial role in supporting the Business Development Team and Proposal Team in their efforts to pursue target markets and opportunities. The primary focus of the Capture Research Analyst is to assist in growing the company's network of partnerships and customer relationships, identifying and assessing new opportunities and markets, and developing and implementing effective win strategies and capture plans. Additionally, the analyst will provide research support as needed for proposal development, ensuring that the teams have the necessary data and insights to succeed in their pursuits. In this role, the Capture Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting thorough market research and analysis to provide market-specific recommendations. This includes evaluating contract vehicle utilization, identifying new opportunities, and assessing potential partnerships. The analyst will also conduct opportunity-specific research to enable effective pursuit strategies, which involves analyzing potential competitors and teammates, gathering customer profiles and contact information, and reviewing spending profiles. The role requires a strong ability to provide data-driven recommendations that support strategy development for new market penetration and opportunity capture plans. The Capture Research Analyst will also be tasked with maintaining accurate corporate data lists and information repositories related to pipeline and opportunity management. This includes providing research support to the proposal team, reviewing historical documentation to enhance proposal writing efforts, and recommending continuous improvements in business development tools and templates. The analyst may also provide research support to other corporate functions, such as recruiting and pricing, as needed. To excel in this position, the Capture Research Analyst must possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while delivering meaningful results. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as the analyst will need to articulate complex business and technical concepts clearly. The role demands expert research and analytic skills, a strong sense of curiosity, and the ability to discern valuable research areas to maximize the impact of research results. Familiarity with federal opportunity tracking systems and tools, as well as advanced proficiency in MS Office tools, is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and provide market-specific recommendations, including contract vehicle utilization, new opportunities, and potential partnerships.
  • Conduct opportunity-specific research to enable effective pursuit such as identification and analysis of potential competitors and teammates, customer profiles and contact information, spending profiles, and more.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations and support to strategy development for new market penetration, contract vehicle utilization, and opportunity capture plans.
  • Support update and maintenance of accurate corporate data lists and information repositories related to pipeline and opportunity management.
  • Provide research support to the proposal team, including the review and use of historical documentation to expedite and improve proposal writing efforts.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in areas such as business development tools and templates, corporate data management, and others.
  • As needed and able, provide research support to other corporate functions such as recruiting (searching for potential candidates) and pricing (market-specific salary research).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years' related experience in business development, sales, marketing and/or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Highly familiar with federal acquisition processes, contract types, contract vehicles, tools, and Government operations.
  • Experience developing win strategies and written proposals in the federal market.
  • Proficient using contract-specific online tools such as eBuy, SeaPort-NxG, OASIS/Symphony, ASTRO, or similar.
  • Familiarity with federal government, military, technical, and engineering concepts, terms, and acronyms, especially those related to USAF and/or DoD business.
  • Familiarity and practical experience utilizing Microsoft SharePoint for collaborative document development and document configuration management/control.
