In this role, the Cardboard Engineer will be responsible for taking highly creative concepts through to final products or displays. This includes generating award-winning cardboard engineering cutter guides, conducting weight testing, and experimenting with new structures, prototypes, and materials. The position requires tackling a range of briefs, from simple shelf trays to complex free-standing displays and event sites. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced studio environment and is comfortable pivoting between various projects. The company values innovation and compliance with brand and retailer guidelines, and the successful candidate will work closely with 3D Designers, Graphic Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure that all designs meet client specifications. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with designers and sales teams, as well as for ensuring that all designs adhere to retail guidelines. The role also involves an understanding of manufacturing processes and a commitment to value engineering and developing manufacturing efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Generating award-winning cardboard engineering cutter guides
  • Conducting weight testing and experimentation with new structures, prototypes, and materials

  • Collaborating with 3D Designers, Graphic Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure designs meet specifications
