About the position

As a Registered Nurse at Baylor Scott & White Health, you will play a crucial role in overseeing patient care during the expansion of our Round Rock Medical Center. This position involves conducting clinical assessments, creating and implementing care plans, and ensuring high-quality patient care in a state-of-the-art facility set to open in February 2025. Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments of patients.
  • Prioritize patient and family needs in care planning.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Adjust care plans based on patient responses and desired outcomes.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Educate patients, families, and community members on healthcare choices.
  • Assess and document learning needs of patients regularly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community to develop care plans.
  • Delegate tasks to team members and follow up on their completion.
  • Utilize problem-solving strategies to address patient and family concerns.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and valid nursing license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, and hospital procedures.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and common medications.
  • Respect for nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Previous experience in patient education.
