About the position

The Cardiac Rehab Nurse at Harrison County Hospital is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, and coordinating the care of patients in the Cardiac Rehabilitation/Cardiology Department. This part-time position requires effective communication with physicians regarding patient conditions and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient status. The nurse will also educate patients and families on health maintenance and risk factor modification, ensuring safety and quality of care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, direct, and coordinate total care for patients in the Cardiac Rehabilitation/Cardiology Department.
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in patients' conditions, including symptomatology and cardiac monitoring.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  • Teach patients and families how to restore and maintain optimal health through risk factor modification.
  • Ensure patient and personnel safety in nursing care provided by self and others.
  • Work in the stress lab and complete assigned patient schedules.

Requirements

  • Current state registered nurse licensure.
  • Stress lab experience and/or previous stress lab training.
  • Previous experience in critical care nursing, ER, cardiac rehab, or a minimum of 2 years cardiac experience.
  • BCLS & ACLS trained.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in laboratory settings.
  • Ability to safely and accurately use all exercise equipment in the department.
  • Ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms.
