About The Position

The position involves performing diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics, adhering to the standards of practice and the organization's policies. The role requires a high level of competence in echocardiography procedures, including advanced techniques such as transesophageal echocardiograms and complex congenital pediatric echocardiograms. The individual may also orient other staff within the department.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program or equivalent education.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or ARDMS certification (RDCS AE for adult or RDCS PE for pediatric).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 2 years of recent relevant experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic cardiac sonography principles and procedures.
• Proficient in performing cardiac sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly.
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics.
• Conduct transesophageal echocardiograms with or without three-dimensional imaging.
• Perform intraoperative transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Assist in structural heart procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab.
• Conduct complex congenital pediatric echocardiograms.
• Orient other staff to the department as needed.

Benefits

• Pay range of $70.55 to $88.18 per hour.
