The Cardiac Sonographer at Rochester Regional Health is responsible for performing diagnostic echocardiographic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics. This role involves utilizing various imaging techniques and protocols to ensure high-quality diagnostic results, contributing to the overall excellence in cardiac care provided by the Rochester Regional Sands-Constellation Heart Institute.
Responsibilities
- Perform medically prescribed diagnostic echocardiographic procedures.
- Utilize imaging protocols established by the American Society of Echocardiography.
- Ensure proper patient positioning techniques to obtain optimal image quality.
- Manipulate imaging control settings to achieve optimal imaging quality.
- Access preliminary diagnostic reports to formulate preliminary interpretations for the reading cardiologist.
- Provide previous echocardiographic studies for comparison with current studies.
- Participate in research studies related to cardiac care.
Requirements
- Appropriate credential in echocardiography (RDCS or RCS).
- Experience in performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with stress echocardiography.
- Familiarity with TAVR, Mitraclip, VSD, and PFO closures.
