About the position
The Cardiac Sonographer at Piedmont McDuffie Hospital is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound testing, including 2D echo and Doppler exams, to assess cardiac function and related conditions in patients of all ages. This role involves providing technical care using ultrasound technology and documenting findings accurately. The position is PRN, requiring availability for shifts during the day without weekend or holiday commitments.
Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient and outpatient cardiac ultrasound testing including 2D echo and Doppler exams.
- Conduct bubble studies, contrast studies, and limited studies for cardiac function, effusion assessment, and thrombus assessment.
- Provide complex technical care using ultrasound technology for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Document all necessary findings and provide preliminary exam results.
Requirements
- Graduate of a registry approved ultrasound program or equivalent experience according to Inter-societal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
- Current registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with RDCS certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RCS certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
- Must obtain appropriate credential within twelve months of hire date.
Nice-to-haves
- Two years of related experience as a hospital inpatient or outpatient/ambulatory cardiac sonographer preferred.
