About the position

The Cardiac Sonographer at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital is responsible for performing diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics. This full-time position requires the individual to ensure patient comfort and safety during tests, maintain equipment, and comply with regulatory standards while delivering high-quality imaging results.

Responsibilities

• Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures and records patient test results.
• Monitors patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
• Maintains adequate supplies and verifies all equipment is in proper working condition; reports deficiencies and failures.
• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department including procedure rooms and storage areas.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Sonography program.
• ARDMS or RDCS in Adult cardiac sonography required.
